Football

Football is a team sport played between two teams, typically consisting of eleven players each, on a rectangular field with a goal at each end. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s goal, using any part of the body except the arms and hands, with the exception of the goalkeeper, who can use their hands within a specific area known as the penalty box.

While the term “football” can refer to different sports in various parts of the world, it commonly denotes association football, known as soccer in some countries. The game is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB). Football is recognized for its emphasis on teamwork, strategy, and skill, involving dribbling, passing, and shooting to navigate the ball around opponents. It is one of the most popular sports globally, with a large following, extensive professional leagues, and major tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup.
