Baseball

Baseball is a bat-and-ball sport played between two teams, each consisting of nine players. The game is played on a diamond-shaped field, with four bases arranged in a square. The objective of the game is for the offensive team (batting team) to hit the ball and run around the bases to score runs, while the defensive team (fielding team) tries to prevent runs by getting players out in various ways, such as catching batted balls or tagging runners.

Baseball consists of nine innings, and each inning is divided into two halves: the top half where the visiting team bats and the bottom half where the home team bats. A run is scored when a player successfully reaches home plate after touching all four bases in order. The game is governed by specific rules, including those for pitching, hitting, and fielding.

Baseball is often referred to as America’s pastime and has a significant cultural impact, particularly in the United States, where it has a rich history and is associated with various traditions, statistics, and major league competitions.
